Support for children with learning problems will be mainly provided by teachers and teaching assistants employed by the College specifically to help with any learning difficulties pupils may encounter with their College work. The extra help may take place in the ordinary classroom and/or be enhanced by withdrawal groups involved in specific learning programmes.
Mrs Sally Bowen (Inclusion Manager) and Ms Melanie Cutler (SEN Co-ordinator) will be working closely with Mrs Angela Miller (Vice Principal) (to ensure that the quality of support is there for the children who need it.
The fact that senior staff are leading the Learning Support team indicates the importance placed on supporting children with special needs and our determination to give all children the highest quality of support possible.
Other leading personnel in the Department are: Phillipa Fritter Assistant SENCo (Pupil Welfare Advisor) and Lisa Robertson, Assistant SENCo (Administration).
