Examinations
March Timetable 2010
Welcome to the Smith's Wood Sports College Examinations Page.
Here you will find a wealth of information and assistance to help and guide you through the exams process.
You must arrive for your exam at least 10 minutes prior to the start time. Full school uniform must be worn, and you should make sure that you bring relevant equipment with you, i.e, black pen, ruler, pencil, rubber.
You will see a 'NO MOBILE PHONES POSTER' located inside and outside the examination room. Mobile phones are not permitted in the exam hall, or on your person. If your mobile phone is heard, either in your bag, or in your pocket, then this will have to be reported to the relevant exam board. They will decide the severity of the offence, and if your paper is to be disallowed.
'WARNING TO CANDIDATE' and 'NOTICE TO CANDIDATE' posters are also located inside and outside the examination room. These should be read, and adhered to, before entering the room.
The summer series of exams will run from Monday 11th May 2009 until Friday 26th June 2009. You will notice from the 'SUMMER TIMETABLE' that exams are not held every day at this college. It is important that you look at your individual timetable, which will have been given to you by your form tutor, each day, to confirm when your next examination is to be held. If you have not been entered for an exam, and you think you should have been, then please direct your initial enquiry to your teacher of that subject. 'YEAR 10 TIMETABLE' contains GCSE/GCE and internal exam information for year 10s.
The College also offers an 'APPEALS AGAINST INTERNAL ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE'.
In order to help you through, what can be a difficult and stressful time, the College has put together an 'EXAM SURVIVAL & REVISION GUIDE', and a list of 'HELPFUL REVISION WEBSITES' for various subjects.
Perhaps the most valuable result of all education is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do, when it ought to be done, whether you like it or not.
